Garment Care

At INSADL, we understand the importance of properly caring for your cycling garments to ensure their longevity, performance, and optimal comfort. To help you maintain your cycling apparel in the best possible condition, we have prepared this professional garment care guide. Follow these guidelines to keep your cycling clothing looking great and performing at its best:

  1. Read and Follow tag's Instructions: Always start by reading and following the care instructions provided on the tag. Different materials and garment types may have specific care requirements, so it's important to adhere to the guidelines provided.

  2. Pre-Washing Preparations: Before washing your cycling garments, take the following steps: a. Close all zippers, hooks, and Velcro fastenings to prevent snagging. b. Turn the garments inside out. This helps protect the fabric and maintain the colors. c. Remove any loose dirt or debris from the garments before washing.

  3. Washing: When washing your cycling clothing, follow these steps:

  4.

    a. Separate by Color: Sort your garments into light and dark colors to prevent color bleeding or fading.
    b. Gentle Cycle: Use a delicate or gentle cycle on your washing machine with cold water. Avoid using hot water, as it can damage the fabric.
    c. Mild Detergent: Use a mild, non-abrasive detergent specifically designed for sportswear or technical fabrics. Avoid using fabric softeners, bleach, or strong detergents, as they can degrade the performance features of the clothing.
    d. Mesh Laundry Bags: Consider placing your cycling garments in mesh laundry bags to protect them from excessive rubbing or tangling with other clothes.

  5. Drying: Proper drying techniques are crucial to maintain the integrity of your cycling clothing: a. Air Drying: It is recommended to air dry your cycling garments whenever possible. Hang them on a clothesline or a drying rack away from direct sunlight or heat sources. b. Avoid Tumble Drying: Heat from tumble dryers can damage the fabric, elastic, and other components of your cycling clothing. If you need to use a dryer, choose a low-heat or delicate setting. c. Shape Restoration: To restore the shape and elasticity of your cycling garments, gently stretch and reshape them while they are still damp.

  6. Storage: Proper storage can extend the lifespan of your cycling clothing: a. Clean and Dry: Ensure your garments are completely dry before storing them to prevent mold or mildew growth. b. Fold or Hang: Depending on the garment type, fold them neatly in a drawer or hang them on padded hangers to prevent wrinkles and maintain their shape. c. Keep Away from Direct Sunlight: Store your cycling garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or strong artificial light, as prolonged exposure can fade colors.

  7. Spot Cleaning: Address stains or spots promptly to prevent them from setting into the fabric. Follow these steps: a. Blot: Gently blot the stained area with a clean, damp cloth or sponge to absorb any excess liquid. b. Spot Treat: Apply a small amount of mild detergent or stain remover specifically designed for technical fabrics to the stained area. Gently rub the fabric together to work in the solution. c. Rinse: Rinse the treated area thoroughly with cold water. d. Air Dry: Allow the garment to air dry completely.

Remember, proper care and maintenance are essential for keeping your cycling clothing in excellent condition, maximizing their performance, and extending their lifespan. By following these guidelines, you can enjoy your cycling apparel for many rides to come.
